Looking for all fish in How to Fish? This field list contains 44 cross-referenced regular, boss and special creatures with the island, rod and lure or trigger reported for each one. It is designed as a route planner, not as a claim that the current game has exactly 44 final Fishipedia records.
Quick answer
The documented lure ladder is straightforward after the opening islands. Island 1 uses the Crab Fishing Rod with Free Lure, Hot Dog and the Empty Beer Can boss trigger. Island 2 mixes Free Lure, Beginner Lure and Hot Dog, while its bosses use Modified Leech or Beginner Boss Lure. Island 3 regular catches use Standard Lure; Island 4 uses Professional Lure; Island 5 uses Scientific Lure. Bosses and special encounters use separate bait or placed triggers, so a normal island lure should not be treated as a universal boss solution.
This page lists 44 documented entries—not a claim that the game has exactly 44 final Fishipedia records. The list is a dated community-documented snapshot assembled from a current fish-and-lure index and a separate published all-fish route. When the in-game Tab encyclopedia disagrees with this page, use the current game UI as the authority and treat the row here as needing a recheck.
Documented fish table
The table keeps acquisition fields separate. “Island” identifies the documented catch area; “rod” is the equipment family shown for the route; “lure or trigger” describes the ordinary bait, boss bait or placed-object trigger. It does not publish a spawn percentage, guaranteed cast count, fixed shoreline point, sale value or Drip rate.

How to use the list without wasting boss bait
Start with the island and ordinary lure tier, then use a common creature as a control catch. On Island 2, verify that the new rod is actively reeling before changing bait: current player reports repeatedly point to holding left click while the hook is in the water. On Islands 3 through 5, ordinary creatures share one main lure tier per island, which makes a basic control simpler. A boss bait belongs to the named encounter and should not be consumed merely to test whether regular fishing works.
Do not change the island, rod, lure and lobby state all at once when a target does not appear. Confirm the current island, display the equipped rod and bait, make several controlled casts, and compare a normal catch before diagnosing a special creature. If a row appears wrong in the current build, record the game version and the exact Tab encyclopedia name rather than silently substituting another creature.
Drip variants and Fishipedia cleanup
Drips are visually distinct variants, but the inspected sources do not establish a separate Drip lure, a universal percentage, a pity counter or a guaranteed farming loop. Use the normal island and lure pairing for the creature, then confirm the result in the in-game encyclopedia. A long dry streak is not proof that the pairing changed, and one successful community report is not enough to calculate odds.
Keep “caught” and “Drip found” as separate completion states. The ordinary record proves the creature route worked; the Drip record should be marked only when the game itself shows the variant. Drip Voxelfish is community-reported on Island 4 with Professional Lure, but the available reports include both a claimed catch and very long unsuccessful attempts. That supports the route, not a rate.
Special catches are outside the normal lure ladder
Bing Bong is an Island 3 Coconut Easter egg rather than another Standard Lure row. The Coconut route has its own guide because the player task includes finding a purchase prompt, spending money and preparing for combat. The Albatross and Mutated Bowhead Whale also use placed-object triggers instead of an ordinary cast. Keeping these triggers separate prevents the fish index from implying that every creature is caught by choosing a rod and pressing cast.
Boss rows are similarly bounded. The table identifies the documented trigger item but does not replace the related progression, bait or fight guide. For example, Carrot identifies the Pufferfish trigger; it does not explain how to obtain the Carrot, prepare a loadout or survive the encounter.
What is not confirmed
A final official Fishipedia count is not yet confirmed by the inspected first-party material. Exact spawn chances, Drip odds, average casts, fixed fishing coordinates, creature health, universal best weapons and complete sale values are also not confirmed here. The official Patch 1.0.10 note says Anglerfish health was reduced slightly, but it does not publish the previous or current number.
“Jobber Fish” does not appear in the audited 44-entry snapshot, so this page does not invent a row for it merely because the phrase appeared in a rising-query panel. It remains an unresolved term until a current in-game encyclopedia capture or two independent current sources identify an exact creature.
Quick questions
Is this a complete list of every fish in How to Fish?
It is a 44-entry cross-referenced snapshot, not a claim of final completeness. Use the current in-game Tab encyclopedia when its names or total differ.
Which lure should I use on Island 3?
Use Standard Lure for the documented ordinary Island 3 pool. Pufferfish uses Carrot, Blue Shark uses Standard Boss Lure, and Bing Bong uses the separate Coconut route.
Do Drip fish need a special lure?
No separate Drip lure is documented in the inspected sources. Follow the creature’s normal island and lure route, then verify the variant in the game encyclopedia.
Is Bing Bong included in the 44 rows?
No. Bing Bong is presented separately because it is a Coconut Easter egg route, not part of the ordinary island-lure ladder represented by the 44-row snapshot.
