The official summaries below cover Patch 1.0.4 through 1.0.9 and keep each version separate so a fix attempt, new setting or balance change is not turned into a permanent general rule.
Patch 1.0.9
Patch 1.0.9 adds Easy and Hard difficulty settings in the main menu and in-game. Easy gives creatures 25% less health and 50% less damage. Hard gives creatures 25% more health and 25% more damage.
The patch also adds a Steam connection debug in the main menu. If the Steam relay text becomes red, the announcement directs players to the Community Discord #common-bugs guidance. It says to restart Steam to receive the update.
The announcement says save-file corruption was hopefully fixed and points players with continuing save or weapon-equip crashes to the Community Discord. That is not a guarantee that every save or crash issue is resolved.
Patch 1.0.8
Patch 1.0.8 says PlayStation controller glyphs should display correctly and links the fire-sizzling sound to the FX volume slider.
Patch 1.0.6
Patch 1.0.6 checks the save file before loading to prevent fake servers named Game Name. It stops saving on an application crash, saves on Save, Main Menu and Quit actions, and continues autosaving every minute.
Patch 1.0.5
Patch 1.0.5 adds invert X/Y options, invite-only private lobbies and session-type settings that require a restart. It fixes travel to islands before unlocking them, invisible slot-machine skins at 4K, the all-drip achievement requiring one extra drip, and a way for joining griefers to end the game immediately.
Use the max-player guide for the private-lobby and restart boundary.
Patch 1.0.4
Patch 1.0.4 adds support for up to 8-player lobbies, nerfs Pufferfish and Whale, makes the intended path to the final island easier to see, and fixes several interface and achievement issues.
The note says it “Hopefully fixed blackscreen when trying to join lobby.” Keep that uncertainty when troubleshooting; use the join-screen checklist for the latest reviewed official checks.
