Trade for Carrot Bait, equip it, and cast from Island 3 to summon Pufferfish. Use trees or cabin roofs as cover from its rolling attack, focus fire with an SMG or Assault Rifle, collect the dropped tail, and deliver it before a seagull steals it.

Follow the Pufferfish task and finish Island 3

01

Answer first

The full task runs from the Carrot Bait trade to the final tail delivery. Prepare the bait, survive the rolling attack, defeat Pufferfish, secure the Pufferfish Tail, and return it to the Island 3 NPC.

02

Before the fight: get Carrot Bait

Trade an endangered fish to the Island 3 NPC for Carrot Bait. The bait is not purchased or gathered from the ground. Equip it and cast from Island 3 to begin the encounter.

03

Read the rolling attack

Pufferfish inflates and rolls across water and land. The roll can crush players and boats, so position around solid cover instead of leaving yourself or the boat in an open line.

04

Try the tested cover tactic

Trees or cabin roofs can provide cover. From that safer position, focus fire with an SMG or Assault Rifle. Treat this as a tested suggestion, not a promise; player count, timing, and game changes can affect the fight.

05

Pick up the progression drop

After the fight, collect the Pufferfish Tail, also described as the Boss Trophy. You need this progression drop for the final delivery.

06

Protect the tail from seagulls

A seagull can steal the dropped trophy before delivery. Secure it promptly and make the return trip instead of leaving it unattended.

07

Deliver the tail and escape

Take the Pufferfish Tail to the Island 3 NPC. The delivery unlocks the final escape coordinates and completes the three-island progression.
